Kristiansand Maritime College
is one of the oldest maritime institutions in Norway. King Christian the 4th of Denmark (and Norway at the time) founded the town of Kristiansand in 1641, and as early as in 1666 he governed that navigational education was to be established in the city.

Over the years the college has been renewed and renamed. The latest news are that we moved into new facilities 3 years ago, and we are now equipped with the latest simulation equipment from Kongsberg Simulations for ship handling, navigation, loading- and engine room operations.

Kristiansandis located on the southern coast of Norway. It is a modern town with a typical square town centre. It is the town in Norway with the highest number of days with sunshine and the area is very popular for recreation and holidays.

Our philosophy is that we, as an educational institution, are part of the maritime industry and as such we have to partake in making the fleet operational and efficient. We aim at giving our students an understanding of the importance of maintaining high standards when serving on board vessel.
